Day 7

Hey y'all! We've been in San Fran a week, and we're leaving tomorrow already! It's bittersweet. I've been absolutely loving this city! We have had so much fun and learned a lot. You can watch my video above for more on today's adventures, so I'm just going to quick outline some fun points and post some pictures for you.

This isn't from today, but last night, a few of us trekked up to Twin Peaks. This is a set of two hills just past the Castro district where you can climb to the top and see an incredible view of the entire city, the bay, the bridges; everything. It is GORGEOUS! We watched the sunset over the city from the summit of one of the peaks and it was amazing to see the cityscape change.

Today, I went to St. Martin's to serve lunch. We made some delicious soup and an awesome salad. My favorite part was the croutons. They were super delicious and everyone loved them! We even got the recipe for them!

We also went to a Thai restaurant for dinner as a group. I had some awesome chicken fried rice and roti (a Thai crispy pancake - similar to sopapillas) with ice cream for dessert. YUM!

And finally, a few of us went to the Good Friday service at a local church. And of course, bussed our way back on the Muni! :)

That's it for Day 7! I hope you have all enjoyed following our adventures on our blog! It has been an incredible trip and we all can't wait to share what we have learned. You'll hear from us again tomorrow, but for tonight, hope you've enjoyed the adventures of Day 7!

From San Francisco with love,

First Day!!!

Hello everybody! Anna Gresser and Jessica Goodsell here! We made it to San Francisco! We arrived around 2:00 after a plane delay and are settled into our hostel. We went over some guidelines and expectations for the week. After shopping at Whole Foods, the Q trip (Queer in the Community) prepared us a delicious spaghetti dinner. It's almost 11:00 here, so we're getting ready to hit the hay in anticipation of an early day tomorrow. We'll be helping serve breakfast at Glide Soup Kitchen and attending the Glide church service at 11:00. Tomorrow afternoon we're all traveling to see the Golden Gate Bridge. We are really excited for our first day of service tomorrow and will keep you updated on all that we are doing. Check back everyday! Talk to you soon!

Hello and welcome to the blog for the Catalyst trip to San Francisco. This trip focuses on food justice through a Christian lens. The group will begin posting when they leave for their trip and will try to post once a day (trust us, they'll be plenty busy.) There will be lots to talk about in these updates, so please, enjoy the blog, and thank you for your support!
